My Story

Morghan Hungerford is an experienced second grade teacher and was named Charles County Public Schools鈥� 2022 Teacher of the Year. She鈥檚 taught all major subject areas at a Title 1 elementary school, as well as been a team leader for second and third grade. Throughout her career, she鈥檚 worked with students from a variety of backgrounds 鈥� gifted and talented, English as a second language, and students with intellectual and physical disabilities. She鈥檚 also contributed her knowledge and experience at the county and state level, developing social studies curriculum.

“My degree in curriculum and instruction has provided me with the chance to write curriculum and frameworks at the state and county level. My second degree in educational leadership has given me the chance to take on an administrator role during the summers for the largest summer program in the county. I鈥檝e also learned so many new ways to make my teaching engaging, which led to my being named Teacher of the Year.鈥�
