ACE: Congratulations on receiving the 2025 Alumni Achievement Award! How does it feel to be selected for this honor?
Dr. Belinda Reyes (BR): Receiving the 2025 Alumni Achievement Award is a deeply meaningful honor. I’m grateful to stand as living proof of ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ’s guiding vision to serve, lead and achieve.
ACE: You’re an assistant superintendent, adjunct professor and CEO. Tell us about your career and what led you to where you are today.
BR: Over the course of nearly 30 years, my roles have ranged from school media clerk to teacher to administrator and CEO, each chapter grounded in service to others. My journey has reaffirmed the critical role educational leaders play in shaping the daily lives of teachers and, ultimately, student success. As I close my chapter as assistant superintendent, I turn my focus to higher education, where I will continue to expand my impact on leadership outcomes. Through Reyes Executive Coaching and Leadership Solutions, LLC, I will devote my next chapter to mentoring and developing those who lead our schools with vision, integrity and purpose.
ACE: What inspired you to earn an Ed.D. at ACE, and how has it advanced your career?
BR: Years ago, I placed my dream of earning a terminal degree on hold, as traditional universities could not accommodate my dual demands as a mother of a young child and district leader. ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ made that dream a reality through a flexible, rigorous online program that honored both my career goals and my personal life. Thanks to ACE, I have earned promotions and recognition, but most importantly, the opportunity to serve as a role model and change agent for underserved communities.
ACE: Tell us about Reyes Executive Coaching and Leadership, LLC and your experience as a school district and educational leader consultant.
BR: Reyes Executive Coaching and Leadership, LLC provides customizable services including keynotes, master classes, coaching, program evaluations and consulting tailored to leaders across all levels. I bring a practitioner’s insight on building leadership capacity, aligning strategy with purpose and driving outcomes. I’ve had the honor of sharing this work nationally and internationally, including at the World EduLead Conference in Singapore. This fall, I am excited to expand that impact with the release of my co-authored book, “Empowered Families, Thriving Students: Unlocking the Potential of Family-School Partnerships.â€
ACE: What advice would you give to an aspiring educational consultant?
BR: Continuous learning is vital to keep current, and your lived experience gives your perspective credibility. Share your insights through writing, presenting and contributing to professional conversations. Remember that this work is not about personal accolades; it is about the people we serve. So, the true measure of success is whether the growth you spark continues long after you have stepped away.
